Portfolio LA Times for iOS
I contracted for Tribune Media to work on the Chicago Tribune and LA Times iPad apps, which shared a code base.
I accomplished converting the apps over to use native UIViews, instead of slower UIWebViews, which crawled (no pun intended) on the iPad. By using native view rendering I was able to speed up the display of data by nearly 6 seconds.
These views also initiated a redraw and would truncate differently as the app supported portrait and landscape.
Update Both the LA Times and Chicago Tribune iPad apps have been replaced with new apps since I had worked on them in 2012
